Mark Ellis

Mark’s desire for ‘mechanical meddling’ started in his early teens when an uncle asked if he would like to help him repair this motorcycle engine. Fascinated by the internal components and the fact that the engine started after a full rebuild convinced Mark that this could be a vocation to be associated with – and nearly 40 years later – he still enjoys it.

After studying O Levels at school, which included Technical Drawing & Metalwork, Mark decided to take the engineering career path and gained an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering whilst working for a local engineering company called Alumasc plc. The first year was full time at Kettering College followed by day release for the remaining years. This gave Mark a fantastic and well round education in the world of engineering. From shop floor to Factory Manager to Purchasing Manager, in 24 years at Alumasc, a career path that would help Mark fulfil his current position as a company director.

Mark left Alumasc plc in 1999 to look at other areas of engineering - more hands on - and found a position as a Field Engineer for Metal Craft Industries UK Ltd in Wellingborough. He was soon promoted to Purchasing Manager, where he modernised the department which included looking at stock control and modern buying techniques. A system was tried and tested, then adopted. Mark worked in this role for a further two years when the opportunity to work in sales arose. This would prove to be the most challenging position to date – first as Sales Executive, then Sales Manager and now Sales & Marketing Director.

In the days when Mark is not working he ensures that he has a good life/work balance. His spare time is taken up by watching football (Season ticket holder at Man Utd and Kettering), Co-Driver in Historic Rallying, Bass Player & Golf (You also need an understanding partner).

Mark’s rise to his current position and balanced lifestyle is proof that if you put the hard work in then anything is possible.
