Richard harvey
Richard, Senior Process Engineer at Aircraft Research Association, won the Alan Casey Award for Best Industrial Placement in 2010, he now keeps us up to date with his career since then.
My second placement was at the Aircraft Research Association where I worked within the Electrical Team developing a monitoring system. At the end of my placement I was lucky enough to be offered a position within the Experimental Aerodynamics department where I worked with the Process Team during my final year at university.
I have now been with the company for 3 years recently being promoted to Senior Process Engineer. My main duties at the moment are fulfilling the Technical Manager role for a £600k upgrade project, whilst maintaining the various pieces of software and hardware that are required for keeping the wind tunnel running such as the data logger.
I value the placement opportunity offered by the Northampton Engineering Training Partnership with as much esteem as the qualification itself due to the high employability of those with industrial experience who have completed their degree.
